ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)? The Urban League of Metro St. Louis has a new president and CEO.
It?s a new day at the Urban League of Metro St. Louis
Michael McMillan is the new CEO and president of the 95 year old organization, replacing Jim Buford who?s set to retire. The 41 year old is proud to take on the challenge and leave his job as St. Louis city?s license collector.
McMillan says his 20 years of social service and government affairs experience prepared him for the job. He?s been a 19th ward a city alderman and part of the Urban League since he was 16. McMillan also got a scholarship from the organization while in college.
When asked about changes and improvements needed for the community, the new CEO says he plans to visit the service sites in his region to determine new strategies.
As the Urban League continues to move forward with social, economic and community programs, so will the vision of McMillan and the 200 employees across the metro who help more than 78,000 people every year.
Mr.? McMillan is set to start his first official day on August 5th.
